What We Do
Feed Lake Highlands partners with the North Texas Food Bank, local grocers, community groups, schools, and dedicated volunteers to distribute over 200,000 meals annually. We primarily serve families in the Lake Highlands High School attendance zone, with additional reach across Northeast Dallas, including Vickery Meadow.
Weekly Food Distribution
Every Wednesday out of the New Room Community Center
(10061 Whitehurst Dr, Dallas, TX 75243)
Monthly Food Distribution at DHA Community
Every 3rd Wednesday at Audelia Manor, a DHA (Dallas Housing Authority) Apartment Community for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities.
Mobile Food Distribution
Every Tuesday & Thursday through our Bookmobile, bringing groceries, literacy activities, and community connection directly to Lake Highlands apartment communities.
Porch
Drop-offs
During Summer and Winter Break at apartment communities to ensure that children and families who rely upon school cafeterias have access to nutritious meals while school is out of session.
School Grocery Bags
To ensure food access for children and families in need at Skyview ES, Lake Highlands ES, Northlake ES, Forest Meadow MS, Aikin ES, Wallace ES, Forest Lane ES, Stults Road ES, Lake Highlands MS, and Lake Highlands HS.
