Who We Serve
75243 • 75231 • 75238
Feed Lake Highlands serves families across the 75243, 75231, and 75238 communities, where many children rely on school meals for daily nourishment. When school is not in session, those meals are unavailable, leaving many children at risk of going hungry.
Feed Lake Highlands steps in to fill that gap, ensuring every child has the food they need to grow, focus, and thrive.

Hidden Socioeconomic Divide in Lake Highlands
In Lake Highlands, there is a hidden socioeconomic divide, where families in need often live just a few streets away from those who are more resourced. Because we naturally live within our own circles, many may not realize the challenges their neighbors are facing, which creates an opportunity for greater awareness, compassion, and connection.

A Neighbor and Friend

Feed Lake Highlands is more than just a Food Pantry. This place is a community. They get to know you on a first name basis and accept you for who you are. They always make every effort to accommodate you and show compassion. I felt so comfortable here as a client that I came back as a volunteer.
Due to health challenges, I am generally isolated and at home most of the time. This is challenging and a very lonely place to be. When I first told Pastor Norman from Feed Lake Highlands about my multiple health restrictions, he brainstormed to find a solution. Pastor Norman told me to just drop by when I feel well and tell them, “Pastor Norman said I can come and talk with you guys.” He said that they would welcome that.
Over time, this has turned into being a regular volunteer. I feel a strong sense of community with the staff and volunteers of Feed Lake Highlands. They have given me a sense of purpose and belonging. It’s given me my confidence back. I am always excited to see the people of Feed Lake Highlands, as it is the staff and volunteers that make this place unique.
